Double national success for Blacon fitness provider
15th November 2022
A Blacon fitness and wellbeing provider is celebrating a double success at a prestigious national awards ceremony.
Rage Fitness and Wellbeing Company, based at Blacon Adventure Playground, picked up the Best Independent Gym trophy at the 2022 Fit Pro Awards. There was further good news for Rage at the ceremony, with centre manager Sam Stanford being named Best Independent Newcomer.
It is the second year in a row that Rage has triumphed at the Fit Pro Awards, having picked up the Outstanding Contribution to the Fitness Industry award back in 2021.
Rage has proved a real success story in Blacon since launching in 2018.
After initially offering just a handful of fitness classes to local residents, it now boasts a fully-featured, state of the art community gym and works with schools, local authorities and the NHS to deliver health and wellbeing services to more than 250,000 people across the UK and beyond.
Craig Brown, Rage’s founder and CEO, said: “It’s been an incredible journey, coming from where we started out to winning national awards. When we stop and think about it, we can’t help but feel very humbled.
“Our goals have always been to improve lives, make a difference and help people be their best selves, and those ambitions will never change. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us to get here and to each and every member of my team for their passion and commitment.”
Avenue Services, which manages Blacon Adventure Playground, supports Rage by providing use of the facility as well as business support and mentoring.
Chris Leicester, neighbourhood partnership manager at Avenue Services, said: “The continued success that Rage enjoys is well-deserved. We’ve seen first-hand the fantastic impact it has had on our local community in Blacon and are proud to be working together to deliver such positive outcomes.”
Avenue Services, which is a not-for-profit organisation, is a joint venture between Sanctuary and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
